List of AAP MLAs recommended for disqualification by the Election Commission

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission (EC) today recommended to President Ram Nath Kovind that 20 AAP MLAs of the Delhi assembly who held 'office of profit' as Parliamentary Secretaries and hence are liable to be disqualified.

In its recommendation sent to the President, the EC said by being parliamentary secretaries, they held 'office of profit' and were liable to be disqualified as MLAs of the Delhi assembly.

The petition before the EC was filed by one Prashant Patel against 21 MLAs who were appointed as parliamentary secretaries by the AAP government in Delhi.

The proceedings against Jarnail Singh were dropped after he resigned as the Rajouri Garden MLA to contest the Punjab Assembly polls.

Here is the list of the 20 MLAs who were recommended for disqualification by the EC.
