Airtel offers Rs 149 data plan for pre-paid users to rival Reliance Jio

Airtel is expected to roll out tthe plan other users too shortly. Airtel's plan of 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day is offered to most of the users.

New Delhi: Airtel has come up with a new plan for prepaid users to rival Reliance Jio. The Rs 149 prepaid plan of Airtel now offers 2GB data per day for some users across different circles, that is up from 1GB data benefit, according to a report.

The plan also offers voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. The plan works out per GB data at Rs 2.66. Reliance Jio also offers a Rs 149 prepaid plan.

The voice calls in the Airtel plan is unlimited unlike Idea Cellular and Vodafone India whose voice call plans are limited.

This plan of Airtel is expected to give tough competition to Jio’s Rs 149 prepaid plan. Jio's Rs.149 plan offers 1.5GB data per day. Besides that the plan also offers unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days, according to Telecomm Talk.
