Coronavirus in India: Infections cross 29 lakh, 68898 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours

There has been a spurt in the rising cases of Coronavirus infection in the country for the second consecutive day. On Friday, 68,898 new cases were reported. At the same time, the number of infected patients has crossed 29 lakh. But the good thing is that the number of people recovering from the infection has exceeded 21.5 million and the investigation has increased.

According to the data updated on Friday morning, the death toll has risen to 54,849, with 983 people dead in the last 24 hours. Cases of infection have increased to 29,05,824 in the country, of which 6,92,028 people are undergoing treatment and 21,58,947 people have recovered from the disease after treatment. Foreign citizens are also involved in total cases of infection.

More than eight lakh samples examined in the last 24 hours

According to data released by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 3,34,67,237 samples were tested till August 20 across the country. Out of which 8,05,985 samples were tested in one day on Thursday. The positivity rate is less than eight percent.

देश में कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण के बढ़ते मामलों में लगातार दूसरे दिन भी उछाल देखने को मिला। शुक्रवार को 68,898 नए मामले सामने आए। वहीं, संक्रमित मरीजों का आंकड़ा 29 लाख के पार पहुंच गया है। लेकिन अच्छी बात यह है कि संक्रमण से स्वस्थ होने वाले लोगों की संख्या साढ़े 21 लाख से ज्यादा हो गई है और जांच में तेजी आई है। 

शुक्रवार सुबह अद्यतन किए गए आंकड़े के अनुसार, पिछले 24 घंटे में 983 लोगों की मौत होने से मृतकों की संख्या बढ़कर 54,849 हो गई है। देश में संक्रमण के मामले बढ़कर 29,05,824 हो गए हैं, जिनमें से 6,92,028 लोगों का उपचार चल रहा है और 21,58,947 लोग उपचार के बाद इस बीमारी से उबर चुके हैं। संक्रमण के कुल मामलों में विदेशी नागरिक भी शामिल हैं। 

पिछले 24 घंटे में आठ लाख से ज्यादा नमूनों की जांच

भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद (आईसीएमआर) की ओर से जारी आंकड़े के मुताबिक, देशभर में 20 अगस्त तक कुल 3,34,67,237 नमूनों की जांच की गई। जिनमें से गुरुवार को एक दिन में 8,05,985 नमूनों की जांच की गई। पॉजिटिविटी रेट आठ प्रतिशत से कम है।
